Documentary Filmmaker
Ambrus is from Budapest, Hungary, living in New York City. He obtained his MA diploma in Film Studies and then worked for over a decade in narrative productions as Camera Assistant next to many renowned filmmakers. Besides that, he made documentary shorts for independent productions, online journals and NGOs and finished a Documentary Studies program at The New School in NYC. His diploma short was screened at DOCNYC.
He teaches Film Production at Brandeis University and is currently working on his first feature documentary, Caretakers, which follows two Hungarian caregivers working in the West.
